Piano & Keys
The piano is what many call a “springboard” to play other musical instruments. It gives the basics, such as reading both trebles (high notes) and bass clefs (low notes) derived from the piano. The student gets immediate satisfaction as he or she presses any key on the piano to hear a sound.
In addition, the keyboard can meld many sounds or notes together creating more harmonious music faster than any other musical instrument. This simple effect may inspire your child to rehearse piano more consistently. There is also a component of visual and learning which expedites the learning process. Students can see and hear the relationships between notes, basic rhythms, and chords.

The way in which the keyboard is set up helps the student master the fundamentals of music playing and music aural listening, it assists the student in seeing and hearing the relationship of notes, intervals and chords. Lastly, having the student play with both right and left hands enforces the use of the whole brain while playing an instrument.
Performance
We teach our students by developing critical thinking skills that will serve them well after they learn the basics of the piano. We want our students to feel comfortable playing on stage at concerts, being soloists, or working with an ensemble. We are looking to prepare our youngest students to play with future live musicians. We have our background teaching in the public school system and understand the importance of preparation. We understand and have insider experience of best working with elementary and middle school children. We look at the whole student holistically, not simply based on talent but potential.
