Piano/Guitar: Suggested For children ages 7+ who commit to a daily practice schedule.
Your Child will thrive in private 1-1 Music Lessons when they have:
- The student is no longer a beginner and has taken group classes for at least a year, starting his/her journey as an intermediate music student. JMA will evaluate the students to ensure they are ready for private lessons.
- Have been taught a wide breadth of musical concepts
- Gain the foundation of music through group music classes and learn essential musical skills/concepts
- Have learned the basics of music theory, sight-reading, chords, transposition, improvisation, changing meters and the notes on the keyboard
- Learned how to be disciplined in their practice
- Commit to a daily practice schedule
- Able to follow teacher’s guidance and instructions on a higher level
- Enjoy the private lessons experience that helps nurture and encourage them to play and sing their favorite songs
In our private lessons, we cover a wide breadth of material depending on the child’s level. Your child(ren) ages 7+ will gain a deeper understanding of their chosen instrument.
More in-depth musical terminologies and playing techniques. We will expose your child to different styles, from Classical, Folk Songs, Disney Songs, Broadway, Popular, Rock, and Jazz repertoire. Our gradual approach to learning will allow your child to feel accomplished after each lesson.
Voice: For students who are socially mature and can follow coaching instructions ages 7+
- Learn vocal technique, vocal projection, tonal placement, breathing techniques, and vocal performance.
- Start with voice lessons when your child shows interest in singing
- Find your unique singing voice while learning different styles of music
